What does Montreal inspire you?
I&G : Although I’ve been a citizen of the world since I was very young, this is the first time I’ve been to Montreal! I am curious, excited, impatient & virgin of all.
How would you describe your music?
I&G : Living in the West Indies for over twenty years, it is inspired by the Guadeloupean Gwo Ka (musical current from slaves) for the rhythmic side, but always combined with a melodic electro sprinkled with influences from the world to give birth to what I call my “EleKtropiKal Touch”!
Your ritual before you go on stage?
I&G : I no longer speak and enter my sound bubble to better share it with the audience once on stage!
What music do you listen to motivate yourself?
I&G : Without hesitating Man with the red face by Laurent Garnier, my favourite song and so much respect for this legend of electronic music!
… and to chill during summer?
Outstanding memory of your musical career?
I&G : My first public performances in Martinique when I mixed Afrobeat & Afro House in a very small beach hut called “Anba Fey Tôl La” in front of an intergenerational, mixed and multicultural audience, because music has this universal virtue that connects us to each other!
20 years ago, MEG was born. And what were you doing back then?
I&G : I lived in Martinique and secretly prepared the project of a radio show on electronic music named “Cosmopop” which was born in 2002 on radio fire ICS.
