Member of Montreal’s 8day collective and recognized for her magnetic sound that will left you with no other options than step on the dancefloor, Lebanese artist Kris Tin was born in Beyrouth and raised in Montreal. Her evolution in the music industry has grown exponentially over the past two years, making her a renowned local in the heart of the city. Whether it be deep and melodic or dark and haunting, her passion for music combined with her spatial fascination consistently fuse together to create a unquestionable singular sound.Although Kris Tin generally leans towards minimal and techno, you’ll notice she’s extremely musically diverse. Kris Tin often plays at venues and festivals such as Salon Daomé, StereoBar, Newspeak, Piknic Electronik, AIM Festival, Igloofest just to name a few. She has played alongside ANNA, Amelie Lens, Layton Giordani, Misstress Barbara, Radio Slave, Sam Paganini during the past year but her milestone moment, when she opened for the legendary Carl Cox in front of 10 000 persons, left her no choice but to set high expectations for herself.

On top of organizing multiple events under the Ghotiitout Management and Skyhook Productions banners, Phil Fiction is a passionate DJ that filters, superimposes and rubs a varied, techno-influenced collection of musical pieces with as much finesse as energy. Technically speaking, he is a swiss-army knife. Whether it be on vinyl of with any other medium, the fiction becomes alive with a single touch.
The resulting cinematic -like soundtracks can be enjoyed as much at home as on the dance-floor of the SAT where he will open the show before Arnaud Rebotini the 31st of August !
At 29, The Avener has made a name for himself as a star DJ at a series of outstanding clubs as a producer and remixer. He took his first piano lessons at six and then enrolled at the conservatoire to study classical music and jazz at the age of eleven. At fourteen, he started to write his own songs, using a combination of traditional instruments and modern technology. In 2014, he released his track Fade Out Lines that went quadruple diamond as an export single. His first album, The Wanderings of the Avener, published in 2005, is a tortuous, uninhibited electro manifesto and 80% of it is made of reworks. The album’s remixes, samples and collaborations with great artists featured the talents of Kadebostany, John Lee Hooker, Adam Cohen, Mazzy Star, Ane Brun and Sixto Rodriguez. The Avener’s music is high in emotions: the antithesis of cold and minimalist electro. His full, sensual sound is a take on the deep house produced by his US counterparts – the music he has loved since his teenage years. Heir to the French Touch, but escaping its codes by rewriting the rules, The Avener makes a point of ignoring trends.
To finish this weekend of celebration on a high note, The Avener will skillfully insert his broad musical culture into the selection of records that he’ll spin on the turntables of the SAT, September 2nd, 2018!
Heidy P. started her journey 13 years ago. She got her first taste of DJing through a weekly show that she hosted on a Montreal university radio station. Initially focused on rock, a few months spent in Berlin expanded her musical horizon and made her discover the endless possibilities of electronic music. Montreal is her hometown and she has hosted many late night events in unusual settings all over the city, like an old printing factory turned techno bunker and a dominatrix loft. She has been based in Europe since 2016, Lisbon being her current homebase. She hosts a monthly show onRadio Quantica, produces music with her project Rhythm Phazer and teaches DJ and music production workshops in the community. She has performed in multiple cities in the past few years including Berlin, Paris, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh and New York, as well as having a string of guest mixes on online radio stations such as Rinse France, N.10.as and The Lot Radio.
Growing up in France, Fonkynson was greatly influenced by his father’s music – the iconic sound of artists such as Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. His interest started shifting as he developed a taste for electronic music styles such as house, drum ‘n’ bass and techno, a passion which would bring him to produce his own material. Fonkynson released a first EP in 2008, on the American label Super HiFi and in 2013, he strikes again with a French house EP, this time released by the British imprint Heavy Disco. After signing to the Montreal-based label Lisbon Lux Records, Fonkynson releases the highly awaited Horny EP, which obtains a lot of attention on digital platforms, helping him reach a wider audience. In 2016, Fonkynson released #followme, a full-length album preceded by the success of two singles, ‘Never’ and ‘Keep It Cool’. The track ‘Aquarelle’ quickly reached the top of Hype Machine’s chart and gained over a hundred thousand plays in a few days.
Often appearing as a DJ next to high profile artists, he will share the stage of the SAT with Etienne de Crécy and Heidy P.
Omni has fifteen years of experience in the world of techno, first as a DJ, then as a producer and co-founder of Tasty Bytes Records. His career led him to publish about thirty tracks and remixes for labels such as Digital Structures, Twisted Frequency, Baroque, Absolut Freak and Cliché Musique. This allowed him to step on stages of major events and festivals in Canada, France and Réunion Island, including Piknic Electronik, Igloofest, MEG, the Réunion Electronik Groove and the Electro Parade. In his DJ set and live performances, his style navigates between different sounds, drawing as much from techno and progressive house as from the electro sounds that have been his trademark for many years.
Sunday, September 2nd, MEG will be the special guest of Piknic Electronik for an afternoon dedicated to a very young audience and DJ Omni will host DJing workshops offered as part of a mini MEG!
