SIN ORI + visual : Myriam Boucher

Dreaming awake. This is the result of the steamy music with coloured tones of the young Montreal multi-instrumentalist SIN ORI. Endowed with immersed rattles from recordings of the reality, it is a cinema for the ear to experiment the eyes wide open. Hugo’s carrier changed in 2016 when it evolved from a compositor/producer of electronic music to a composition of timbral music. His prolific writing of multi-phonic creations for audiovisual facilities gave birth to the project SIN ORI that he shares currently with several video makers under the wing of his teacher Nicolas Bernier.

Myriam Boucher is a video and sound artist based in Montreal. Her sensitive and polymorphic work concerns the intimate dialogue between music, sound and image, through visual music and audiovisual performance. Her work won prizes in the 2015 and 2016 JTTP awards, the 2015 JIM Electroacoustic Compositions Competition and the bourse Euterke 2015, and has been presented at many international events including MUTEK (CA), Akousma (CA), Igloofest (CA) and KONTAKTE (DE).
Boucher’s work departs from a free gesture and tends towards nature, passing from the material to the immaterial. She explores the desire for freedom and questions our intrinsic relationship to life.

Kazuki Koga + visual : Charlotte Clermont

Kazuki Koga is a Japanese GORGE producer based in Montreal, Canada. GORGE is ‘rock music’ in the most literal sense. It is the “sound of a rock, sound of water that beats the rock, sound of a mountain held by the rock. GORGE is not a human expression, GORGE only has the hardness of the rocks. Can you survive?

Charlotte Clermont holds a BFA in Studio Arts from Concordia University. Her work has been presented in Canada and internationally (Biennale Itoshima Arts Farm, Les Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, Festival Oodaaq, European Media Art Festival, Montreal Underground Film Festival). She has participated in audiovisual performances in Montreal (Nuit Blanche, Suoni Per Il Popolo, Jeunesse Cosmique, mercredimusics) and Kuala Lumpur (KLEX Experimental Film, Video and Music Festival). Her videos are distributed by Videographe, Video Out and Winnipeg Film Group. In 2018, she will be an artist in residence at Fusion Torino, in Italy.

Hazy Montagne Mystique / Me Float / Space Clouds Filter + visual : Guillaume Vallée

Hazy Mountagne Mystique, Me Float and Space Clouds Filter is an encounter in the space between three spaceships that unite for a glorious victory worthy of a star fight. Similar missiles and cosmic thunderbolts await you. The ship is waiting for you. The performance will be supported by the crazy images of Guillaume Vallée.

Guillaume Vallée – Graduated from Concordia University with a major in film animation and a MFA-Studio Arts degree in film production. He is a performer, an installation artist and experimental film and video director interested in the creative process of moving images and their interaction with other media. Vallée creates hybrid video and performance pieces using camera-less techniques, optical effects, video feedback and found footage to explore ever more complex relationships with his subject matter. He is currently completing a PhD in arts at UQAM studying subcultures in cinema, music and multidisciplinary performance. His experimental films and videos, distributed by Vidéographe, have been screened internationally.

Paraphonique + visual : François Létourneau

Paraphonique is the project of the producer of electronic music Nicolas Lavoie, who composes sound portraits and landscapes by means of a modular synthesizer and of found sounds. Dynamic rhythms, slow tempos and crushed sounds populate the stories in movement of its cinematographic music. It distinguishes itself by its evocative side, proper to the exploration of known and unknown territories, at the ambient, krautrock and IDM crossroads. Active in the electronic musical scene in Outaouais, in Ottawa, in Saguenay and in Montreal, Nicolas was inspired, during the last years, by the work of Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Danny Wolfer and Daniel Lopatin.

François Létourneau tamper the sound and images by means of modular synths. He presented his work in several frames of experimental evenings of Montreal. He is also the founder of the Mini-festival of the synth of Montreal which groups several artists stemming from the local electronic scene.
